I had the usual problem with my conservatory; too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. Hating the usual suggestion of blinds (dust traps!) I started to look around for something else.
On a trip to my local DIY store one day, I saw the rolls of polystyrene for insulating walls. It's not the same as the old stuff, they now make it flame retardant.
I bought a couple of rolls, and basically "wallpapered" the conservatory ceiling using a heavy duty wallpaper paste, and hey presto! It's been up just over a year, and I have noticed that last summer it cut the temerature out there by more than 20 degrees, and seemed to prevent a lot of heat lost this last winter. I have also painted it, and it just looks like an ordinary ceiling.
I have been on this website in the past looking for answers, and found that loads of people had the same problem. I just thought it would be nice to pass on a tip that has worked exceedingly well for me!
