Hi, We are traveling from MBJ to USA NC with a connection to Boston. I am trying to figure out how to buy rum at the airport- I am confused- don't I reclaim my bags at my final destination (Boston). Some people are telling me we will claim our baggage in NC and I will repack my rum in my baggage, because I will have to recheck it to get to Boston.

Thanks!!!

why don't you ring your travel agent and find out?
If you are travelling to the USA you always repeat always have to collect your bags at the first airport you arrive at, clear them through customs (and yourself through immigration) and then recheck them for the connecting flight - normally just putting them on a conveyor belt immediately after customs. Repacking might (only might) be seen as suspicious.

If you are flying from somewhere that has immigration pre-clearance you still have to go through customs on arrival.
