hoping to book for las vegas in october can any one recommend a good hotel. so far am bamboozled by varoius reports, thinking about bellagio, caesars palace or the venetiona, although have heard some building work going on at Caesars.
MGM Grand is Excellent. Live Lions in the foyer.Great swimming facilities. In house theatre. Great buffet breakfast and dinner if not eating out at other hotels.
We stayed at the Luxor..........fantastic! But every hotel on the strip is! Depends on what you want to pay though. Caesar's Palace and the Bellagio are two of the most expensive. For a cheepie on the other hand, try the Stratosphere. Enjoy it all either way...you'll love it!!
I would go to the Bellagio it is superb, forget the stratosphere stopped in that last november it is a dump, the only good thing about is the rollercoaster on the roof, and the observation tower think it is 84 stories up, amazing views from up there, it is great in vegas at night but during the day it is abuilding site and parts of it very sleazy, kids giving out cards for prostitutes, apart from that it is great, ,
Dont go for the more expensive ones because there is sooo much to see and do that all you want is somewhere to lay your head down, believe me if you spend time in your room-- your sad.I have stayed at The Luxor [ which I would recommend for first timers], MGM, New YorkNew York, Excalibur [ the medieval one I think thats its name] all of which were good and the facilities top class, the only one we stayed which was grotty was Circus Circus[ but their buffet is good]. Not the Stratosphere it is too far at one end of the strip. The top hotel at the moment is the Wynne another good one is TI [ Treasure Island] your spoilt for choice, so try and eat in a different hotel and venue each day, on arrival ask check in for a free copy of Whats On magazine that gives you the low down on everything and try and spend on evening DownTown with the free lazer show in the sky and also take a trip to the Rio, their hotel parades are good [ and free] but its a bit way out to stay.
Lucky you have a great time, if you want to know where to shop for the real bargains let me know.

I ve been twice and just booked again (yeah), first time we stayed in the Luxor and the second time in New York New York, much preferred the Luxor so we just booked to go back there. As previously said all the Hotels on the strip are pretty amazing (apart from circus circus, very dated), We just booked direct with Luxor for Jan 2009 and it came to just under 500 for 7 nights staying in the pyramid, direct flights with Virgin came to just under 1200 flying from Gatwick.
Hope you have a great time.
Stayed at Aladdin now called Planet Hollywood. Middle ish strip hotel. Nice rooms Opp the Belagio.
For the best located hotel & cheapest the Imperial Palace is in the middle of the strip .Walking distance of lots.
However if I went & money was no object I would stay at the Bellagio for luxuary & class.
do not stay at the Circus or Staptosphere ...YUK.
excalibur was superb when we stayed in may, just had a makeover, would not recommend the luxor, my hubby got bed bites in november when we went last nov. its having a revamp, think one tower is new but you cant guarantee where you are put. would not touch the stratosphere with a barge pole or anywhere down that end, its a dump. to go up it is fine but not to stay there. hope you have a great time, its a blast!!!
