we were on a family holiday of a lifetime - cruise, and this was one of the places where we stopped during the cruise.
There is quite a bit to see & do but you would need to look into it. You could also visit other place that aren't too hard to visit while you're there instead of staying in one place.
look it up on google maps cozumel and cancun

The dolphins here used to be able to swim free....but because of idiots in boats they are now confined to the Reef. Eilat is a beautiful holiday destination....and of course offers superb diving/snorkelling in the Red Sea.

A friend of mine went to Thailand. While there, they took a trip to a little cove where wild dolphins swam in at the same time each day. The dolphins stayed for about half an hour then swam off into the ocean again. That is the type of scenario i would like to be in rather than dolphins confined to one space. Not sure where it was exactily but sure an internet or travel agents search into thailand would throw it up.
Also my dad swam with wild dolphins in fort lauderdale, florida. He just went for a swim in the sea and some dolphins appeared swimming round him then swam off. This wouldn't be a guaranteed appearance but the hotel said it was quite common. Can find out the name of the hotel if you were interested though.

If in the USA try here - http://www.dolphins.org/ - totally natural environmentand well managed.
Sorry for delay but here are the details of where my dad stayed:
Ft. Myers beach, in the Gulf of Mexico, south of Tampa and St Petersburg on the West Coast.
I got to within about 10 yds or less of one, but I was being cautious because I've heard they can attack you...barge
you with their noses and can cause severe injuries. We were staying at the Neptune Hotel (Motel).
Apparently the Dolphins come in close to the Coast in the early evening looking for fish.
Hope this helps (he like to be detailed)
