Is it possible for the A330 Airbus to do a 'loop the loop'??

I very much doubt it.

Even if it had sufficient power to lift itself over the top, the flight computers would not allow the pilot to do such a manoeuvre.

In any "fly by wire" aircraft, such as the A330 enables the pilot to override the computer/auto flight system. While I'm sure it's never been done, the fact is that any well executed loop manuever never imposes more than one "G" force on the aircraft. The speed is not a concern as long as the air speed is managed.
Years ago, when the Boeng 707, one of the first jet transport aircraft was being test flown, a group of potential airline buyers of the aircraft was concerned about the "new" technology. (The British were the first with the Comet, with disatrous results). The test pilot "Tex" Johnson elected to demonstrate a roll in the huge aircraft. I had the distinct honor to meet Mr. Johnson... He would have no compuntion in looping an A330, I sure...

They tried to bring the aircraft down in mid flight over a desert as an experiement but the aircraft "refused" to do so. So I think not.

The reason I asked the question is because I went to the Farnborough air show last week and i'm sure the A330 done the 'loop the loop'. when I said to my father, a BA engineer for 30 years, about it he said it was impossible.
Maybe I should just listen to experience next time 8-)

No.

At the Farnborough airshow the 330 did an incredibly steep climb then a wing over, ( steep turn) and probably gave the impression of looping but it didn't do one.

There is no record of a large civil air liner doing a loop, due to design, structural limits etc.

I believe that concorde could do a barrel roll no problem (as in Clanad's 707 youtube clip), don't know about loop the loop tho! I kinda expect it could.
