London triathlon

Don't know if this should be on sport or travel or what, but know you lot will give me a run for my money. Need to be at the start of the London Triathlon at 6.30am!! at Victoria Dock on 10th August to see off step son. Coming from Somerset we will obviously need to come up Saturday night. Any idea where we should stay (obviously investigating travelodge, premiers ETC) but does the underground run that early and will it be easy to get a cab. Sorry, it makes me sound like a real yokel, which I am
