Jaclyn, my friends daughter who is cabin crew, suggested that I use a folding stick then if their is any problem they can put it in one of their flight lockers and return it on landing, but as I said I've never had any problem
I travel as a disabled passenger and need two sticks for any small amount of walking I have to do. They have to be put through the scanning machine with all my other bits and pieces . However, my husband suffered an injury while abroad one year and the airline refused to allow him to take his walking stick on board because they hadn't been advised beforehand. I would suggest you advise your travel agent or whomever you're booked with before you go.
i just came home from Italy on Sunday into Manchester
several flights had landed at once and there was a massive Que to get through passport control .
this very nice lady ( member of staff ) noticed me with my stick and kindly took me right to the front of the Que by a side route . So some time it can be a advantage to have a stick :-)
