I've seen several adverts in the national press for an all inclusive Nile cruise, the price seems very good and includes all excursions. Several friends and family have been on Nile cruises and all had a great time so we're quite keen to give it a go. My question is, has anyone booked through the company I've seen advertised, its called Discover Egypt, and if you have would you recommend them?

I haven't, so I don't know, but I went with Archers earlier this year and they were fine. In general most cruises seem to cover exactly the same stretch of river (basically between Luxor and Aswan), so at any given point you have maybe 30 boats all tied up, sometimes 4 or 5 deep out from the quay. As far as I could see, from walking through these to get to the shore, all were pretty much alike, though some might be a bit more posh than others. Anyway, it was fascinating, especially if you like ancient history.
Watch out for the food poisoning - common enough in the Nile zone of Egypt but rampant on the cruise boats.

Thanks for your replies, think you're right there jno, thats the stretch of the nile the cruise I looked at covered. As for the food poisoning, out of a dozen people I know who have been on a Nile cruise, only one got an upset stomach, mind you, it did last for weeks after he got home!
