Ideas for weekends away ... March 2009
Hi
I am due a 'special' birthday in March 2009. I dont fancy a typical party. I would like to have a family do, and go away with my hubby for a weekend (Fri-Sun). Any ideas where we could go??????????
max price = 350 -400 each
Thanks xxxx

There are nearly always loads of cheap flights. (easyJet fly direct to Barcelona. Ryanair fly to Girona and Reus, with fast bus links into Barcelona). I've just checked Ryanair for flights from Stansted to Girona, out on Friday morning 06/03 and back on Sunday evening 08/03. They're currently quoting roughly 100 return (inclusive of all taxes and charges). You could easily get a quality hotel with the rest of your budget, with plenty of money to spare for spending on birthday celebrations.

My fella and I stayed here a few months ago (his business trip in a town a short distance away, I tagged along), he booked online and got an amazing deal. We loved the hotel and spa so much we're (and our best friends are) going there for New Years Eve!!! (just booked it lask week - so excited)

So if you're not bothered about the weather and you do like country walks, but might like to get back to the hotel for a relaxing spa complete with sauna and steam room, and definately don't want to be ripped off, then go there. We highly recommend it.
Let me know what you think, hon

You say you would like to have "a family do"
but also say "go away with your hubby"
(which I would've taken as being just the two of you)
Not exactly sure what you are looking for - one trip or two, but - If there are a lot of you, why not try one of the many 'mini-cruises' that are available (& quite cheap) ?
They are really quite fun - everyone is basically in the same "Hotel" - You have a choice of restaurants & bars, usually a casino, cinema & gym - entertainment is laid on, & it doesn't really matter what the weather is like - OK, so you don't actually get much time at your destination, it's mainly for the "cruise" but it's a fairly cheap, fun weekend away, plus you get duty-free shopping too !!
