Has anyone used a Lay Z Spa inflatable hot tub through winter?

I have bought a Lay Z Spa series 2 inflatable hot tub and I'm trying to find out if I can use it through the English winter. Some websites say you can, others (including the manufacturer) say you can't. Has anyone actually tried it? I can understand why you'd need to drain the water once the temperature drops to zero, that wouldn't be a problem. It's just that I'm hoping I'll be able to leave the tub set up all year round. The pump/heater unit is enclosed in a wooden box and the thick canvas covers will be left on the tub and it will be drained when the temperature is getting near freezing. I guess the question is will the English winter damage the PVC? Has anyone got any experience of this? Thanks.
