England to California (USA)

Does anyone know about how long it would take for a package to reach California from England??? Standard mail. Best possible and worst possible maybe? Thanks in advance!

Standard airmail - one week max

Surface mail - up to 2 months I think. Certainly one.

Royal Mail's official 'delivery aims' are 5 days for airmail and 8 to 12 weeks for surface mail.

When I've airmailed stuff to the USA, it seems to take 4 or 5 days to major centres of population (such as New York) but about 8 to 10 days to somewhere more remote (such as Lake City, Colorado).

My friend postage a package recently and was told 10 working days, however it took a bit longer than that.

Ordinary letters in the post usually take about a week

I have known packages take 4 months, especially before Christmas. Be very careful what you post. Anything metal seems to arouse suspicions as they X-ray every parcel. I've given up. They may give guarantees on delivery but they mean nothing. Never put banknotes in casrds as they can see that as well and they are never delivered. Well, mine aren't anyway. Sorry to seem so pessimistic but that's my experience.
