holiday suitable for toddlers and baby
Can anyone suggest anywhere that covers some or all of the following? Trying to get ideas for next years holiday with friends. The UK was easier this year but theres no guarentee with the weather early in the year
Suitable for 3 year olds and a 1 year old. (so nothing full of steps or busy roads)
A shallow beach meaning that kids can paddle without fear
a clean and sandy beach
not too long a flight, 3/4 hours max from UK. Short transfer from airport
warm but not overly hot in about March / april / May
As there are many of us to please we still havnt even narrowed it down to a country so need some ideas to help us on our way. If anyone can recommend a hotel or a resort it would be even better.
thank you

There was a little beach a few minutes walk from the hotel, perfect for toddling to and also the hotel had good childrens pool and a little play park. Throughout Calan blanes kids were particularly well catered for lots of little soft play areas but also we were a short distance from Cuitadella where we went for fancier nights out but again good play parks. We went the beginning of May and it was quite hot. I would certainly recommend there and know alot of people have said Menorca in general is good for children. We booked through thomsons.
Albufeira in portugal, we stayed at Villanova, it was self catering and cheap, a play area, swimming pool and toddelr pool, it also had a kids club for a couple of hours peace. also had a bar and restaurant on the doorstep, plus a local supermarket within easy distance. there is also a road train that tkaes you down to the town. should be quite warm and cheap in April.
Went with Portland direct.

The above places sound great but I would be concerned about the weather at that time of year! I think it is down to luck, we have been to Majorca in May and it was cold (like walking on the beach at Scarborough!) and we went to Lanzarote in Feb/March a few years back and it was cold most of the time apart from 1-2 days!
I think the best bet would be for the Canary Islands as they are supposed to be warm all year round. I don't know about Greece or Egypt but that is probably a slightly longer flight I think. If you do go in May I would book for mid to late May the weather should be fine anywhere then. I once looked at the First Choice Holiday Villages the one in Costa del Sol looks fab for kids as do the other hols aimed at kids. Hope you have fun deciding!
