I am probably going to Costa Rica for a couple of weeks in February, so really need to start saving. We'll just be paying for a flight and will be doing the rest ourselves. Does anyone know what an average flight (return from a London airport) would cost me at that time?

Why won't anyone answer my question?! It's like a kick in the teeth, it really is! I'll never save enough money anyway, I'm just kidding myself. Loan, here I come! (again)
I'm following you round the site, georgit79! And it looks like we may be in CR at the same time if I follow your language school advice. A quick search on www.lastminute.com and the cheapest return to San Jos's Juan Santamaria international airport is 534.63 with KLM; there's also a couple of flights for 622... ouch.

Ouch indeed. I definitely can't afford that, but am definitely going, so... Learning a language in that particular country where it's spoken (I know what I'm talking about) is by far the best idea. Good luck! PS: I'm going to Film & TV next- see you there!
Costa Rica is fantastic. Watch the flight which go via Madrid as they can be heavy on smokers. Does Iberia still allow smoking on transatlantic flights? Once you get to CR and out of San Jose, which can be a little tricky, the living is VERY cheap and the Ticos are so friendly. I love it so much I went twice in one year. I missed your question originally as I've been away lately. Hope you get there and have a great time. If ever I go missing that's where I will be.
