philadelphia
Has anyone been to Philadelphia (the touristy bit not the place where Louis Theroux went!!). We have a limited time to be in Philadelphia (one evening a half day), and wonder how long it would take us to do the 'must sees' there. Although we don't especially want to extend our stay we could do if it was worth it to spend the extra day there.

Think we stayed for just over a day, which gave us the opportunity to run up the 'Rocky steps' and see the Liberty Bell amongst other things. Seeing the Liberty Bell was not without problem as we had our bikes parked out the front, and an over-anxious security guard decided they might be packed with semtex and made us go and move them...It's a very pretty place, and the river is very beautiful and well worth having a stroll next to.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.
Other things worth seeing/doing are:
Going to the top of the Ben Franklin tower for the views
Visiting Reading Market to see the Amish stalls and having a Philly Cheesesteak from Jim's King of Steaks in the market. Unless you're famished 1 between 2 will be enough and have cheez wizz rather than "proper" cheese.
Visiting King of Prussia Mall - one of the largest in the world
If you've got kids go to Hershey World outside Philly
