i am going back to australia after christmas with 10kilos of stuff more than i came with, also i want to take a large cardboard stand about 190cm high by 80cm across but 2mm thick. wrapped in bubble wrap. Will it be easier and cheaper for me to put it as extra bagage or ship it back home. im travelling with korean air with a three year old with 40kilos of allowed weight which is all taken.

Personally I would have thought it would be cheaper to post the cardboard stand, but why don't you phone Korean Air, who will be able to tell you how much they would charge for the extra baggage?
ship it back home I would have thought, start getting quotes now, see if shipping is cheaper than "unaccompanied baggage" with Korean Air, also take into consideration wll they collect or do you stay near enough to deliver yourself. the most expensive way obviously is as extra baggage at the airport when you fly and travelling with a youngster you wont want the extra hassle. start looking now- yellow pages, the net etc, dont leave it too late. Good luck.
