Devon vs Cornwall

Hi, We are thinking about taking a four day break next March in either Devon or Cornwall. We would like to find a old pub to stay in that would accept two spaniels as well. Other criteria is a nice log fire and good steak. Can anyone recomend somewhere in the above counties, or a website that would point us in the right direction. Regards Moonraker.
