Does anyone know about free blue badge parking in the city centre.I'd rather use a car park as I'm a bit unsure about parking on the street. Is there a map published?

Most of the street parking in the city centre is covered by parking meters but blue badge holders can park for free. The multi storey and private car parks will charge, and it could easily cost you up to 10 for a four hour stay depending where you park.

This is from the Manchester City Council website;-

Badge holders may park with a badge and clock displayed for up to three hours on a single or double yellow line (so long as no loading restrictions are in force). The clock must be set to show the time of arrival. Badge holders may park with the badge only displayed without time limit at a pay and display parking bay (free of charge) and, without time limit on a designated on-street accessible bay.

Manchester also allows parking for badge holders on resident parking permit bays without a time limit.

Badge holders must not park:

Where loading is prohibited
Wholly or partly on the footway
At a suspended or out of order parking place
