Cooker trips the electricity
15 Answers
Hi,
My newish Neff double oven trips the electric but only after it has been on over 2 1/2 hours. Once we have reset the clock we can switch it on but it trips about every 15 minutes. It's definitely the main oven. Any remedies?

if it did it with your old one it is obviously a problem with the curcuit really need to get it checked out by someone who knows what they are doing.
I assume it does it with the main oven as this draws more power from the curcuit it could be something simple like the wrong rating on the trip/fuse but dont even think about messing around without making sure the wirie/cable is the right spec

Cookers and some other white goods, have a very annoying habit of leaking a small current to earth. This gives a lot of "nuisance" tripping.
For this reason, I always thought the cooker circuit should NOT be one of the circuits protected by an RCD (trip).
Maybe the rules have changed though............where's Nobby..................he's a proper electrician..........honest!....................even though he is from Dagenham.................LOL
