We are having a very quick stopover in Memphis in late April. Will have time to do the Graceland tour in the morning, and then onto Beale Street for the afternoon/evening. Recommendations welcome for where to go/where to eat/ what is a must see/do given the short time we are there

We live in the U.S. and have been to Memphis numerous times. Although Corky's has been named the top restaurant for nealry 15 years, I, personally prefer The Central or Cozy Corner... Fact is, it's probably hard to find bad barbeque in Memphis. The Mempis style is usually what's called wet... the flavor is dependant on the sauce, whereas, Carolina style is dependant more on the dry rub and smoke... henceit's called dry... Too bad you won't have more time, you could do the Stax Museum...(http://www.staxmuseum.com/ ). or the Peabody Ducks at the Peabody Hotel... It is a good time of th eyear before th einfamous Mississippi humidity sets in.

Graceland is fantastic, you'll love it, Sun Studio is a really good tour lasts about an hour and cost $12 each, Beale Street is great too lots of live music just watch out for panhandlers (beggars) ignore them and they move on.
Agree with Clanad you cant go to Memphis and not eat barbecue, its very good, we went to Leonards they do a buffet, loads of choices and resonably priced too and the food was great. Enjoy Memphis its a great city.
