Am planning to go camping in Bordeaux in august, travelling from Dover to Calais, can anyone recommend a couple of nice areas to stay along the way.

I worked in a little place called Ardres last summer. Its nice if you like quiet village-y type places with friendly locals.

Hauteville-sur-mer is nice too but thats a bit of a detour.

How are you travelling?  Backpacking or car?

Hi debbie

Have a look at the AA campsite guide for Europe.  Trace your route and see where the stops are likely to be.  It depends what time ferry you get how far you go in France before you need a campsite.  I assume you are putting up a tent and therefore won't want to travel until it's dark?  The roads in France are much improved and the journey is now much quicker.
