we are on benefits as in ssp and disability higher rate carers and child tax - my husband had an accident 6 years ago and now is permently disabled due to this we are wondering that if we moved abroad i.e spain because the weather is warmer and this does help his pain but we are wondering if this possible as we are on benefits advice would be greatly appreciated

From what little I know you wouldn't be able to continue to claim benefits from the UK if you went abroard and you wouldn't be able to claim benefits in Spain either. If you were to do it then it would have to be on your own savings or for someone to work which unfortuantly doesn't sound like an option for you.
You should be able to get the care component of the DLA and the carers allowance.

Think very carefully though - there may not be the support you are used to or may need in the future in another country. You very quickly become acclimatised to the very hot summers and the winters will feel cold in mainland Spain.

You may not be entitled to any help with housing costs, so bear that in mind.

thank you for your answers i have checked the dwp website out and just found it a little confusing i think under the circumstances we will be staying put
