i want to cancel holiday

i have it all payed,4 days in blackpool,from 22nd may,if i dont get anything back i will loose �330,am i too late to cancel,the reason is my mum and sister are both ill,mum isnt expected to make it ,what will i do

should be ok under the circumstances Slinky, did you book with a David Urquart travel? I found them to be very good and understanding, I know they do these 4 day trips,

it says in the small print(caledonian travel) if you cancel
15-21 days before holiday you loose 50% of total price
8-14 days 75%
7days or less 100%,
then it has after that' please note that the minimum cancellation charge is the amount of the deposit plus any insurance.

Hi Slinky. You need a letter from the doctor regarding your mum and sister's conditions. This might cost you about �20. You should contact your travel agent, or whoever you booked with, telephone in the first place, explain the situation, that you are not in a position to take the holiday, and then send them the letter from the doctor to confirm the reason. As the 22nd May is quite close now, and the situation is one that you could not possibly have forseen, they might be sympathetic, as Paraffin says. As the time is short for them to re-allocate the accommodation, they may offer you something. It should say something about what happens in such an eventuality somewhere on your booking form. Did you take out insurance? If so, does it cover you for any loss in these circumstances?

just phoned the travel agent ,because it is so close to the holiday they cant do anything but they will send out an insurance claim form and i should get most of it back.

I expect that the Insurance Company will expect you to cancel the holiday as soon as possible, so that the "loss" is minimised.
