In 1984 I was found guilty of "fraud" ( a company fiddle ) and fined 175. In 1988 I was found guilty of assault and fined 450. are these classed as serious offences ?. Considering the small amount of money paid in fines and the years that have past, will I still have to go to the American embassy and apply for a visa or can I just set off to the U.S.A. for a fortnights holiday ?. Thank you.
Fraud is moral turpitude therefore yes you should go to the US Embassy. However given the amount of time that has elapsed even if the recent rumours about sharing records are true, yours won't be there. So my guess is you'd be OK
Assault is not (generally) moral turpitude and you can ignore it.
