Day trips from Spain
7 Answers
Going to Benalmadena in July and booked flights with Easyjet. They've sent me an email offering day trips to Gibraltar and North Africa and I'm wondering if they're worth it and if so should we book with them before we go or wait till we get there.
If anyone has been to the Benalmadena/Torremolinas area and can give any useful tips, then it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation.
PS Should I be worried about my flights being with easyjet?

Anyone driven abroad? Do the Gib trip yourself.
The rock tour is the only thing worth going there for(personal opinion)and maybe the cheaper fags if you smoke.Yes dont forget passport.I was well on my way driving one year and mentioned "Everyone got their passports" A first visiter hadnt theirs and I had to turn back.

Unless Easy Squeezy are offering really good pre-booking deals - shop when you get there. They are fighting for business as expected!
Prices c2006 for trip to Gib - Euro 10 for 'Shopping Trip' only - i.e lift both ways.
Approx Eu 35 including Dolphin Watching or 'Rock Tour' or Cable Car.
Be aware if you intend buying Tax/Duty free that there are limits (i.e 200 ciggies, 1 ltr spirits etc. Personally I still think it is best to buy as much as you want in Tax paid stuff in Spain).
DON'T FORGET YOUR PASSPORT ;)
Morrocco - can be anything from Eu80 - 120 depending on type of trip. Day trip is a bit of a long haul as you have to get up early, get the coach to Gib (usually), they put you on the high speed ferry.. you spend a lot of time in the coach the other end.. etc, etc. IMO Morocco is a 3 day trip min. (Plus you must be prepared for 'Developing Country' environ).
Buen Viaje!
ps - website below may have some coach co's who are offering these trips so you can have a look at the current prices..

Thanks everyone, I knew I could depend on ABers.
Malagabob, how strict are they at the border when coming back into Spain from Gib re the amount of cigarettes?
And thanks especially to Susanspain as that website is brilliant and I've bookmarked it.
Thanks again, and any other tips please pass them on.

NEWSFLASH!
Just seen 'The One Show' and they tell of tourists booking independent trips once in resort - and not being covered 1 Iota if there is an 'accident'. BUT - If you book with your UK tour operator (check Easys T&C's)... you ARE covered - Dominic Little also advised to pay by CC etc - as it gives you extra insurance.
I would not have thought to be this cautious in Sunny Spain - being a European country and all that.. BUT - having been the victim of a boy racer 2yrs ago here - and NO RECOMPENSE! (Even tho it has gone to court/police put full blame at his feet) - Maybe better to be cuatious - Although - maybe if you have good travel insurance (read the small print?)... maybe that will be sufficient 'should' anything come out of the blue.
What a world we live in :(
PS - RE the Spanish customs checking on exit from Gib - Yes they do! (Although 'sometimes' they wave your through - just to let you know there IS a real chance of having your bag checked). Penalty for 'over the limit' - pay the tax - or leave it there...
