passport for domestic travel

why are ryanair allowed to insist on a passport for domestic flights! Surely travel within your own borders should be allowed on photo id

Don't know really, they all seem to have different policies. If you sail to the Isle of Man you do not need your passport, but if fly, you do. it must be something to do with the security now in airports, thats all I can think of

OK they no longer accept driving licenses...

Why are they allowed to do this? because they can ask for whatever they want when you get on their plane, if they wanted to insist that all passengers carry a green and pink bag they would be perfectly within their rights to do so.

the can insist because its their own company, they make the rules for who they allow to travel and who not.

they could say that they wont board anyone with a black flight bag if they wanted.

lol @chuck. a pink and green bag would certainly cheer up a flight better than a plane full of black flight bags :)

They do it so that they don't need to train their checkin staff to make decisions. Saves training costs, possibly allows lower wages.
