it seems it advertises itself as a gay hotel but a few posts show that it is welcoming of all
looks like its in a great spot on seafront

We have a Gay Grndson,so are (despite our age) quite Au Fait with the Gay Scene.
He says that (despite never having stayed at the Amsterdam himself) he has heard only good reports of it.
Gay guys are very female friendly,so problems there.
The only slight problem might be that the Amsterdam can have quite a few Lesbian guests, who (you being female) might come on to you.
You only have to make it clear you are str8 and I feel sure they will back off.
At least having a Gay/Lesbian atmosphere you will have fun, unlike some of the fuddy duddy hotels in Brighton.

It's estimated that one in three of Brighton's adult male population (and a slightly smaller percentage of women) are gay. In some parts of the city (particularly around Kemp Town, where many of the hotels and guest houses are located) the gay community are very much in the majority.
So almost any hotel in Brighton is quite likely to be run by a gay couple or to have plenty of gay guests. If 8 girls book together the proprietors won't make any assumptions, either way, about their sexuality. They'll just be regarded as more guests to be welcomed to the UK's most vibrant city outside of London.
