taxi from barcelona airport to malgrat - de-mar

I would like to ask does anyone live on the costa brava?if so we would like to know the cheapest taxi firm to take us from barcelona airport to malgrat in 2weeks time.i have done a search and resort hoppa comes up but a private taxi is �300 return and a shared transport is �100 return but takes over 2 hours is this about right?we are a family of 4.thanks Hannah

If it were me, I would take the train from the airport into the Barcelona train station and take a train from there to Malgrat. I am not sure how far it is but I bet that it is just as fast and a lot less expensive. Look on Renfe.com and you can see what trains are available and what the cost would be.

How old are your children? Train is a lot cheaper.

It's about 70km and Barcelona isn't the nearest airport so I'm guessing 2 hours is about right.

Hannah40 The train runs right into the airport. the fee charged which used to be about 2.50 Euros pays for the entire route from the airport to the main Terminal. You would need to find out which terminal you need to get off at and they should be able to tell you at the airport. I have been trying to find Malgrat on the map but unable to find it. The problem with the Costa Brava is that the trains run inland part of the way and you may have to get off someplace and take a bus. I would try Renfe Barcelona to Malgrate and see what they offer.

my children are 18months and 5yrs the baby not walking so i need the journey to be easy as poss.

Hi Hannah40, I do this trip many times and it's easy and cheap, on arrival at Barcelona airport look for the train sign exit and follow it, you walk over a bridge and you come to the station ( no need for taxi ) get 4 tickets for Malgrat from machine or ticket office ( about 20 euro total ), the train goes one way so get on and get off at Sants, this is the main station and will take about 25 mins, when you are on the platform at Sants you then need the train to Blanes, there are electric signs above you telling you when it's due, about every 30 mins, get on this costal train and after about 1 hour you arrive at Malgrat, on the way back just reverse these details, the trains are safe, clean and cheap, enjoy.

I think you must mean Hotel Papi, if so you can walk to this from the train Station, Malgrat is a one road frontal resort and the station before Malgrat is Santa Susanna, so its between these 2 stations.
