Are late availability holidays still cheap?

Hi all,
My boyfriend and I want to go to Egypt in October or November and could book somewhere now for about 450 each all inclusive. We aren't sure if waiting until a couple of weeks before might be better?

If we ended up going somewhere else it wouldn't matter too much, but I'm just wondering if leaving it that late actualls pays off? I know I tried to do it a few years ago and went to book a month in advance and was told that everything was booked and we prob ended up paying a bit more.

Has anyone booked a really last minute deal recently? Should we risk waiting or get something booked soon?

Many thanks in advance :-)
