Places of interest Around Kendal

Travelling up to Kendal fron mid-Wales on Tuesday and staying for over a week Looking for Museums and or Gardens open to the puplic,will obviously go to Windemere etc but am looking for other interesting things to do and places to visit.Going up by car,but once in Kendal,hope to use local bus services as much as possible ,Keeping fingers crossed for some nice weather

two places near Kendal,Sizergh castle and levans hall. both worth a visit.Kendal itself has a museum of natural history and archaeology.

If you fancy a detour near Windemere, pop along to the Laurel and Hardy Museum in Ulverstion. Well worth a visit.
