Anyway - if u need a proof Pixelchic (is it homework or something ??), then here it is:
Distance = velocity x time
So, in first case D = 60 x T
In second case, the distance is the same, the velocity is now 75 mph and the time is 9 minutes (3/20 hour) less.
i.e. D = 75 x (T - 3/20)
D = 75T - 11 1/4
Therefore 60T = 75T - 11 1/4
T = 3/4 hour (time taken for first journey) and D = 45 miles, as Buenchico correctly pointed out.
