Waterloo to Liverpool Street

As a taxi would probably be to expensive and as it shows on thetrainline.com site that the journey is at least one hour, is there a bus from Waterloo to Liverpool Street train station?...unless it aint that dear by taxi? Ta Muchly.

Waterloo and City line to Bank then Central line to Liverpool Street. 15 mins. Go on the Transport for London website and you can plan the journey on there.

Thank You Both. I should have made it clear that it was on the tube that trainline said it was at least an hour...now obviously wrong! I guess Redhelen that your 12 quid was a taxi fare and I'll have a look at the site you suggest Mirandasmum. Thanks again.

depending on your final destination, you could also take the jubilee line from waterloo & pick up a mainline train at Stratford.

Thanks Mushroom, but as we're going to be laden with stuff, we'd rather take the easiest route to Liverpool Street, rather than have to change here and there...thence to Norwich. Thanks though.

if you're laden with luggage it might be easier to take bus 26 direct from waterloo to liverpool street - every 8mn and journey time approx 35mn.

Thetrainline.com always allows loads of time to cross London mainly because on bad days it can take that long. if they book you onto a connecting train and you miss it, you're completely stuck and would moan at them. If you get to the second station early, you can just hang around and wait and then get on the train you're booked on.

If you've got a lot of luggage then a taxi would be simplest. However at peak times it can take a while to get to the front of the taxi queue.

In terms of Underground, Jubilee LIne to Stratford and then change to the mainline would be simplest as there are lifts down to the Jubilee Line from Waterloo. Waterloo and City and then Central would be a pain with luggage as you'd have to go up and down several sets of stairs.

Buses - the times they take is very dependent on the traffic. I did Waterloo to Liverpool Street in 10 minutes one Sunday morning but it regularly takes 45 minutes or more at peak times.

thetrainline's fares will include the tube on cross London journeys.

Better buy from a train company's website and avoid thetrainline's fees.

I live on Jubilee line and it is down almost every weekend for engineering - the best route would be one to Bank but there is quite a long walk between the train lines there. Everyone is right that there is no way that is an hour journey I would say 20 - 30 minutes maximum - I dont think waterloo and city line runs weekends but could be wrong.

I think the taxi would be about £20 now to do that trip depends on time of day but there are road works everywhere and it clocks when the taxi is not moving
