Satnavs and snow

In the snowy conditions two weeks ago, I found myself ignoring my satnav's advice on quite a few occasions.

I have a cheap satnav but I was wondering whether the more expensive ones have a 'snow setting' - giving you the option to go for a route where the roads are likely to be gritted and avoiding steep, narrow, country lanes where possible?

You can get sat navs for aircraft and ships but you won't get one for snow !
The sat nav I have has options for shortest, quickest and scenic routes. The quickest means you'd be travelling on 'fast' roads i.e. motorways, I would think that would be the one to go for in a snowy situation.
Koster, In snow there is only one sat nav to use, & that's your own common judgement back lanes, short cuts do not get gritted, if you rely on the device you can come unstuck.
