Belize on the cruise ship

I am taking a week long cruise, will be in Belize port for 8 hrs. The cruise ship does have about 20+ affordable side trips..... any suggestions, comments,

we went to the zoo and saw the jaguars, then just strolled round town. I don't know what other options they've given you. If there's a Mayan ruin trip, you might see better ones in Mexico.

Go to www.cruisecritic.com and find the roll call for your ship and sailing. People there may have places on private tours (which are normally better and cheaper than the ship ones), or at least advice on what to do.

Go to boards.cruisecritic.com. Register and then go to your roll call for your cruise date and you will find others on your cruise so you can share trips and tour ideas. Don't bother with ships tours - often over priced.
On the same site scroll down to the ports of call section and click on the link for Belize for many suggestions too.
