That's a shame tambo... where abouts were you going?
whats the point in having an expiry date if you can't use it up until the date it expires??

I don't know when you intend travelling, but good luck Tamborine.
Hope you get a new passport sorted quickly and everything work out, and you get to go on your Thailand vacation.

thanx for that naomi24....that 09 number took 15mins recorded to come up with the address you gave = £22.50 phone cost!! Wot a con!
Oh! NO! nearly happened to me a few years ago, for most destinations you do need to at least 6 months validity on the passport, such a con!! just means that it's not for 10 years! Just nine and a half!! You have to read the small print to discover this!!Very, very unfair, given the stupid price of a passport these days!! Sorry you missed your holiday!...................

at least it shouldn't happen to any of you as you have been warned. I did ask if I could go anywhere else (the stop-over was Dubai) but its the same anywhere out of EU.

My daughter has gone, the trip was for her - she'll get my cigs if I dont make it ;)
Is it possible you can catch up with your daughter?
It's a requirement in every country - passports must be valid for at least six months.
Question Author
will try & get passport sorted 2moro, have yet to hear back from travel agents - we'll see if I make it ;)
Question Author
6 months is not a requirement of the passport office, its the requirement of certain Embassies - p'port office information via phone. P'port office say its responsibility of agents to inform travellers of Embassy conditions.

How was I to know? No mention in agents Terms & Cons.
I am sure it's OK within the EU society. I have gone with only 3 weeks left on a passport. However, 6 months anywhere else.
Question Author
thanx lofty - am after sunshine.....not much in EU ;(
Sue the agents Tambo for t he neglect in not informing you!! You can then have a year's holiday touring hot countries.
