Lost Rail Tickets

Some time ago my grand-daughter bought rail tickets for herself and friends to go to London this weekend but now can't find them. She paid by card (can't get out of her what kind as she is so upset at the moment). Is there anything she can do except buy more tickets?

Although I don't know for certain her position, because rail tickets are not linked to a particular traveller, any form of ID or anything, it seems highly unlikely that they would be re-issued even if proof of purchase is to hand (with two sets, a fraudulent traveller could have twice the number of people travel for just half the normal cost). However, it is worth going back to the people/station she bought the tickets from and explain the situation - thus if/when the missing tickets turn up both sets could be presented in the hope of a refund of one (unused) set. This depends on the used set still being physically in her hands and not swallowed up by a machine somewhere.

she will have to produce the receipt they gave her or a credit card statement proving she has actually bought the tickets before she goes back to wherever she booked from.

Thank you KARL and Dee Sa for your replies. She has contacted both her card company and the rail company and both have told her she has no claim as it is her fault that she has lost them. Four of the tickets were for her friends so she had to buy five more sets and then to add insult to injury one of the party dropped out! She is only 18 and not very well off so I felt quite sorry for her.
