Other half and I are going to Cuba for Easter and will stay the first 3 nights in Havana before going to Varadero. Does anyone know the easiest/cheapest/quickest way to do this? We don't mind public transport.
TIA

The three hour (approx) bus ride costs $10.80. There are 4 buses, each way, per day. Departures from Havana are at 0800, 1000, 1200 and 1800.

Thank you very much! Do you happen to know if it's easy to get to the coach station from the Saratoga Hotel which is in Centro Havana and is it best to book in advance?
Thanks again!
I'd love to visit Cuba but I'm posting here solely after a bit of web-searching.

However Google maps states that the Hotel Saratoga is 4.8km (3.0 miles) from the Viazul bus terminal (which, incidentally, appears to be a completely different place to Havana bus station - take care to go to the right place). A taxi shouldn't be very expensive.

Chris

PS: I've just taken a look at the hotel's website. Can I come too, please? ;-)

Looks gorgeous, doesn't it?!!! Thanks so much for your help - why didn't I think of looking on Google map? I've been told that you should go to Cuba before Fidel dies as it's likely to change. So go for it!
Thanks again for your help. I'm going to book the bus and hopefully get to meet some locals.
