marine conservation holidays

i know that there are many companies where you can off for a summer or gap year and do marine conservation work, but which are the best, prferably i'm looking for a company that offers atol protected trips.

i think it's unlikely that anyone is going to be able to tell you which one is "the best" seeing as most people only do a gap year once, and therefore will only have experience of one, with nothing to compare it to!

have you looked here. It does not take too long to do your own research. Also try talking to universities as they may well have good contacts in the industry who they can put you in contact with.
