Hi,

We're taking a load of baby stuff over to the US for a Nephew being born this month - my question is ..

Is it worth taking the baby steriliser - would the electrics be ok ? .

Worried that it won't get hot enough as I know there are problems with hairdryers and straighteners

I dont think they use the same voltage as us,to be on the safe side google for an answer.
Many families in the states do not use sterilisers anyway, they wash at the highest setting in the dishwasher - personally no, I don't think it's worth it
In the UK our dishwashers have a far cooler setting not hot enough to sterilise anything
Why not check with the family before hand? TBH baby stuff will be expensive here, so why not buy once you get there or make a gift of $ once there for a baby store in the US?
How about a cold water steriliser? or microwave steam steriliser? neither need to be plugged in!

It was Google that brought me here :) Couldn't get a definitive answer.

The family probably will use it...it's my other halfs brother and Sister in law. It's stuff that her 1 year old doesn't really need anymore and it's her Nephew that';s being born. Just trying to work out if it's worth taking
I wouldn`t bother. Because of the difference in voltage it will take a lot longer to heat up if my travel kettle is anything to go by. You could get one in one of the great stores like Target in the states as a gift.
