family holidays

I'm looking for somewhere to go on holiday with a baby and a two year old. Ideally we'd like somewhere child-friendly on the coast with warm sunny weather (but not too hot) in Feb or March. We've never been on a package holiday before, so don't want a big hotel or somewhere too "resorty" - but we'd like option of getting all our meals prepared and baby-sitting/ childcare. Any ideas?
