How much memory do audio books take up
My wife and I are going on holiday and we want to download some audio (e-books), to her new Ipod but all the sites tell you the narration time, i.e 14hrs 24mins but not how big the file is. Therefore we have no idea how many books we can buy to fit on the device. I understand that all books vary on size and content but has anyone a ball park figure Mb's or Gb's for an average size book, just as a rough guide. I don't want to buy more books than I can fit on the ipod if I can help it.

If you don't mind a slight loss of quality you can compress the audio books into smaller files fairly easily. (For example, I've got some old radio programmes, such as 'The Navy Lark', in MP3 format. Each ½-hour programme takes up about 7Mb).
