we're getting married in Gretna and then want just a couple of days honeymoon before going back to bathgate (nr Edinburgh) to pick up OH's daughter. We don't want to spend too long travelling as will then be driving back to Cardiff. Can anyone suggest a nice place, somewhere not too far from either Gretna or Edinburgh (but near the coast) for a nice relaxing couple of days?? xx

Ayr. It's about 80 miles from Gretna, and is absolutely beautiful.

Or nearer is Saint Andrew's which I really liked. But if you're getting married during the golf tournament go somewhere else as everything is full.

Stirling is lovely, and about an hour and a half drive from Gretna - and kind of on the way to Edinburgh by motorway.
