Just what it says on the tin...... It's a card that you load up with the currency of your choice and you withdraw money from a ATM abroad
But you can do that with your ordinary bank card... and your bank may give you a better rate of exchange...
You can get dozens of these cash cards these days, ideal for people who don't want to risk taking a debit card abroad - but you do need to check, some of them charge you every time you want to withdraw or top up your own money. As long as the card has a Visa or similar logo and you can use it abroad, they should be ok, but you need to do some research first, don't go for the first one that comes your way.
I think the Nationwide Flexaccount debit card can be used without paying any fees.
Yes it can Islowry, it is one of the best, and the one we use when abroad. There is no fee for taking out your money in Europe, and when we went to Morocco the fee was only 1% which is very reasonable.
