Balls! can you get a ferry from Norfolk to anywhere? France or Holland maybe.
You can get a ferry from Harwich (Essex) to the Hook of Holland.
Question Author
hhhmm trying to find a way of getting some people from work to Dusseldorf. They went from Calais last week and drove from there but it looks like they might be starting their day next week in Norwich so I'm trying to find the easiest driving route for them.
Question Author
I meant from Dover to Calais.
Not from Norfolk Mike. You can hire a Pedallo from Great Yarmouth perhaps ;o).
Used to be passenger ferries from Felixstowe (Suffolk) but they stopped. Just freight now which include Norfolk Line Ferries. Wonder why they got that name!!?
I know that Harwich isn't in Norfolk, but in terms of driving it might be the easiest option. Dusseldorf is 165 miles from the Hook of Holland, which I would imagine is less than the distance from Calais.
Question Author
Ha ha, that's it's they are going on a pedlo!
Surely train from Norwich to Harwich
Question Author
Nope, they can't get the train. They have to drive as they have a van load of metal to take with them.
Depends where in Germany.

This might suit

The van load of metal might sink the pedalo!!
Mmmm, yep only option is Harwich
Question Author
Good point Lofty. I was thinking of justing giving them a tow rope to attach the van to the pedalo.
Sorry Mike, just realised that I should have put 'Milly' and not 'Mike' in my answer up there ^. I knew you didn't think that Harwich was in Norfolk!!
Milly, where are they starting their journey - is it from Norfolk?
Train from duesseldorf to Rotterdam then connecting train to the ferry terminal at hook of holland - Harwich.
Harwich - Norwich about 1.5 hours by train
They can get their van on the Harwich ferry
Question Author
Lofty, it's a bit disorganised to be honest (I will apoligse now for my spelling). They are working in Norwhich through the day on Monday and need to start making their way to Dusseldorf on Monday afternoon/evening so it would make sense for them to go from Norwhich if possible, otherwise they will have to drive back down to Dover.
