So our 'Leader' (where's Cameron?) has committed Britain by law to spend billions overseas every year, although Britain spent almost £10billion on foreign aid last year, with the biggest chunk going to India,
/// Mr Clegg insisted that the aid bill was in our ‘self-interest’ and linked the plight of the poor abroad to terrorism and immigration problems at home.///
Who is trying to kid, does he really think that if he throws billions of pounds overseas, that will somehow prevent terrorism and solve our immigration problems? Er! wasn't this almost the same excuse for us being in Afghanistan?
While Britain raised its donations to foreign countries by nearly 15 per cent in 2009, at the height of the financial crisis, Germany slashed its aid budget by 12 per cent to divert spending to priorities at home.
While vast cuts are made at home, with our schools crumbling, and our housing stock dwindling etc, etc.
Should he now be reducing our overseas aid and spending it on our country?
