Hello group, I need to purchase some money for a trip to Tenerife, does anyone know if they are in the Euro? I did hear because it was off the Spanish mainland that it wasn't. And where is the best place to buy the currency.
Regards
Otto

The Canary Islands use euros in exactly the same way as the Spanish mainland. It may be worth shopping around as to where to buy the euros. Some places impose a fee, but may give you a better rate: others "don't charge", but give you a better exchange rate. Try obvious ones such as the Post Office and Thomas Cook. Have a nice time!
Clearly, that should have read ".. but don't give you as good an exchange rate ..."
I have often found that Travelex have had the best exchange rates in the past
