My Dear Amber...............

My darling dog (Rough Collie) Amber, aged 12 has died. My husband and I came back from holiday yesterday and at the airport I recieved a phone call from my daughter to say Amber had died in her sleep that night. I am heartbroken as she was at kennels and I never got to give her a hug and tell her I loved her so much.

lilacben, I'm so sorry. Many people on here will be thinking of you. At least she was not alone, the people at the kennels will have been kind to her in her last hours - but I know what you mean. Many years ago my old cat died when it was in the vet's, I had no chance to say goodbye. I am sure your dog knew how much you loved her, treasure the good times that you gave her during her life.

lilacben I am so, so sorry to read this. I can understand how you must both be feeling. But it is apparent how much you loved Amber and thought of her. May your many happy memories of her throughout her 12 years comfort you. Our beloved pets always know just how much we loved them ♥

i feel for you i really do, i took my cat who is 14 to the vets this morning to hear the news she needs to be put down due to a tumour. very sad.

So sorry to hear this sad news lilcaben, Amber knew you loved her, you gave her all those year of love and care, of course she knew, shame you couldn't be there, but she did go in her sleep, which tells you that she was peaceful and settled, so just try to remember the lovely times you had together, it will get easier to cope with, I lost my little friend 10 months ago, very hard to cope with, he was 14, and my best mate!........Missed him so much, couldn't talk about it for months without tears, but now I can remember him with affection and joy because we had the best times together!...................Take Care!....................
