Unsuitable sized bedding
Why is it that some places provide bedding which is not really suitable - just spent 3 nights in a caravan on a well known caravan holiday site - the duvet just about covered the width of the bed, was only just long enough and the cover for it was too short. This meant that by the time both my husband and myself got in bed, there was a gap all round! Very annoying, especially during the night when we spent half the time trying to cover ourself up!

There were 8 of us there, but there wasn't a pan big enough to cook for all of us. We only wanted to do spag bol one night, but had to use loads of pans as couidn't get it all in one pan! Also there wasn't a vacuum cleaner there. I mentioned both to the owner after we got home as they asked for feedback. They said that the villa was cleaned inbetween hirers, yes, but one of our children had spilt a packet of crisps on the living room carpet, and without a vacuum cleaner we just couldn't get it all up.
I get the impression you were using a "double duvet". Using two singles, as those who have used this form of bedding for generations, would almost certainly have solved the problem. These things have only been in widespread use in Britain for 2-3 decades and here they replaced blankets which, being tucked under the bed/matress, formed a kind of swaddling. Hardly anyone abroad uses double sized ones because they invariably cause draughts and/or tugs-of-war, although draughts rarely matter abroad because temperatures are much higher either in their well heated houses or as a result of a warmer climate.
