what type of visa do i need for travel though amercia?

ow my goodness, i can't believe how hard it is just to fly somewhere!! i've just booked a flight to santo domingo and i'm gonna have to change at miami and boston. Do you know what information or type of visa i need to do this? or a website that can give me some help. I'm british and i've lived in england all my life. Thankyou xx

Best you ask the ticket agents so if you are refused any flights you have proof of agents recommendations & can sue them, if need be.

If you're eligible for visa-free entry into the USA (under the Visa Waiver Program) all you'll need is an ESTA :

Otherwise you'll need a C1 transit visa:

To enter the Dominican Republic you'll need a tourist card, costing US$10 on arrival:

chris, i don't know what i'd do without you!!! your such a star, thankyou so much. :-) i'll check out those websites then double check with the ticket agents as jaydah suggested. I don't know why do they make it so hard, you'd think that these countries wouldn't want tourists the way they act.

The ESTA is valid for 2 years or until your passport expires (which ever is first). It is now linked on their database to your passport number.

I think an ESTA costs £14 but don`t quote me on that. Check the website. It lasts for 2 years and it allows you multiple entries into the US

ow awesome!! i've already brought one, but thought you had to reapply for one each time you enter the county. It was so cheap, think about £10!!
