Washing Machine Connection Charge
8 Answers
Not sure where I should post this but........ Bought and paid for connection of new and disposal of the old washing machine from Tescos.
When they arrived it couldn't be fitted because the wooden flooring was too tight and we have pulled up the floor and got it connected ourselves.
They left without disconnecting the travel bolts and if I hadn't heard of these bolts in the past I might well have started the machine with them connected and damaged it.
Now, it was my decision to let them leave and I suppose I could claim my £19 back but do I have a case with Tesco about them not leaving me a serviceable machine ie, ready to work, just not in situ because of the floor?

If so then maybe you could have a case for getting the £19 back- although if they'd hired an extra plumber just to do the fitting they might argue he still had to turn out so you should pay.
However if the £19 included the delivery then I think it's only right you should pay.
Still, there's no harm in asking
