What visa will i need to work in the U.S for a year?.....and would it go through??
Hi. I am planning to apply for a years working visa so i can move to the U.S. (Florida). My fiancee and daughter are out there and we are planning to get married when i get over too so i can stay permanantly. I thought getting a working visa so i can start work as soon as i get over would be the best option but don't know which visa i would need to apply for
Thing is though that i have alot of debt in the UK and wondered if this would go against me and i may be denied a visa? I haven't been working for the past 18 months either!
I think i could also apply for a fiance visa but i assume i would not be able to work until we are married and have applied for a work permit
Worst comes to worst i can go out on holiday and get married then but wondered if anyone can help with some advise?
My fiancee and daughter are both american citizens if this helps
Many thanks,
Wu

I have to go back home as the dog that we have who was rehomed hasn't settled and they will get rid of him if not. Now the plan is for me to go back and put plans into action to take him with us. That coupled with the face i am unable to work out here until we are married and have applied for a work permit, we though it best to go back home and resume work to save some more money for our future
To get a working visa for the US you need an offer from a US employer of a job that cannot be filled by someone local. From the sound of it you ain't going to get that - so forget that angle and concentrate on the fiance visa.
In an earlier post you mentioned drink driving - that IS going to make getting a visa more difficult, not because it's moral turpitude (which it as you were correctly told it isn't) but because it will raise the suspicion that you are an alcoholic. You will have to undergo a medical at the Embassy to prove you are not.

I already have an offer of work. I am from a catering background and have been offere a job working for a company that supplies food and other products to lots of restaurants. The guy who offered me the job is a family friend so could possibly say he wants a British guy with knowledge of British cuisine to promote British items to its current list of clients - a job which could not really be filled by a Floridian.
